“I would like to record my appreciation to yourself and team from Tecsew for producing and fitting the excellent cockpit enclosure for our Westerly Konsort Sweet Lil. The family has made full use of it from the first day, using it as a Bimini from the strong sun, a Windbreak after swimming, and then the children had great fun sleeping under it in the cockpit. I was very impressed to find the job completed so quickly and professionally and just 10 days after placement of my order. We are now looking forward to fully utilising the extra space onboard the enclosure now gives regardless of weather conditions”
Clive Bowles and Family, “Sweet Lil”, Chichester Marina

“Just been down this weekend to look at the new cockpit enclosure for the first time; looks great and was impressively protected in the Siberian wind”
Dr P Hetherington, Southerly 110 “BORDER REIVER”, Haslar Marina
“After looking long and hard at a number of cockpit tent makers we opted to go with Tecsew for a cockpit tent for our 346. We are absolutely delighted with the result. The tent design has been well thought through and is made with high quality fabric and fittings. With many experiences in the boating world we have found quality of service to be sadly lacking, so it was with some apprehension we ordered the tent. The service we received was truly excellent. An initial visit was done promptly and subsequent measuring and fitting completed within a fortnight. Not bad for late June! Half the pleasure of having our cockpit tent has come from the service we received from you. Nothing was too much trouble”
Julian Hickman, Moody 346, “PARADIGM SHIFT”, Hornet Marina
“Shikari, my Huntsman 28 is now safely moored up in Majorca, after an interesting trip and looks resplendent nicely protected by the overall cover and bimini that you supplied for her. Being a classic vessel it’s so much more challenging to design a bimini particularly that both does the job and looks the part. On our trip we experienced the schizophrenic nature of the Med firstly by enjoying the ‘sun factor 99’ the bimini afforded us on the first leg and then promptly the ‘spray shielding’ from a nasty chop later on. I can now get on with the task of sorting the ‘canvas’ on the Swan 36 and my two Revival Yachts with the confidence of dealing with the most professional and pleasant cover makers around”
Iain McInnes, Boat Nut and Revival Yachts Partner
“Just wanted to write and thank you for the great canopy you’ve designed and built for our Antares 9.80. You were very patient with our various requests and provided some useful improvements to our original design. Never having had a canopy on a boat before, I was a little apprehensive that it would make the cockpit feel a little dark and too enclosed. On the contrary, it’s given us a whole new room, that’s bright & airy with all the windows…a great new space for us!”
Stacey Paige, Beneteau Antares 9.8, “HURLEY BURLEY”, Port Solent
“Thank you very much for the speed of production and quality of the newly fitted bimini. I was very pleased in the way the installation went onto the boat. It looks great and works really well. I shall now look forward to the sun shining”
Tony Bate, Jeanneau 54DS, Swanwick Marina
“Just a quick letter to say thank you for the cockpit enclosure you have made and supplied for my boat. Having felt unsure, I saw it for the first time on Thursday and was delighted with the quality, the appearance and the amazing practicality. Thank you also for the time you spent discussing it with me prior to my order which was extremely helpful”
David Jones, Southerly 38
“Just a quick note to thank you for all your friendly advice and speedy service. Jane and I are extremely pleased with the cockpit tent and spray hood. We are also glad that we made the choice to go with Tecsew. The end results of the high quality materials used and your experience has made a first class product which we are very proud of. We would highly recommend Tecsew to any boat owner”
David & Jane Snook, “Moody Waters” - Southsea
"I would like to thank you and your staff for an excellent service that you have provided. Not only was the quality of your workmanship but the speed you managed to complete the job was impeccable. I will fully recommend your company to anybody that is in need of any work of this nature"
A. Redding, "Reef Hunter" Orkney Day Angler 19 @ Eastney Cruising Association
"You kindly made a Cockpit Enclosure for our SO37 and fitted it in early 2007, when we kept the boat at Hamble. At short notice you returned to the boat and made minor alterations and split the maintubes, so we could set of for the east coast. In the summer of 2007 I cleverly "chucked" the heavy stainless steel lower lugs for the frame into three metres of water and mud! What to do? I phoned Tecsew at 10am on a Tuesday and explained the problem. Tecsew took details of the measurements of the 2 tubes and attachments over the phone, did the necessary fabrication immediately, and despatched to our home address where the replacement parts were received on Thursday am. The charge was just £40. A first class service. I should add that all the staff I've dealt with at Tecsew have been helpful and good humoured"
Peter and Jenn Greatrex, Sun Odyssey 37 "Tales of Homer" Shotley Marina, Suffolk
“Some contacts I have in the boatbuilding business reckon these are the best. I have had Tecsew sprayhoods on three boats and so can also recommend them from personal experience.
No connection! ”
Mike Beasley, private yacht owner.
Just a short note to thank you for your recent work on Bouzouki. I found your company so efficient it quite surprised me when comparing it with others in the industry. The bimini, sprayhood and wheel covers are all extremely well designed and made and the after sales service, to get things just right, was all that I could have asked for. Many thanks.
Rodney Emberson, Ben Oce 50 "Bouzouki".
“We are extremely pleased with the covers you supplied for our new Sabreline 36, particularly the cockpit side screens. Given that I had very little idea of what was needed John has put in place something that I feel is quite innovative. It gives us far more flexibility than I expected whilst still in keeping with the boat. Being able to roll them all up rather than remove each time was a bonus! Anyhow, many thanks for doing such a quality job! It will certainly add to our boating pleasure.”
Jane and Malcolm Dunks- Brand new Sabreline 36 Sedan.
“Just to let you know (I oozed to John about this) we are still absolutely delighted with our cockpit enclosure; it is such a great addition to our yacht. We are able to sit on deck and appreciate the view whatever the weather! Also, the service we have received from your company has been excellent – I chose to have press studs so that I wouldn’t have anything sticking out of the deck that I could injure myself on; a couple of these failed and you came to replace them without any fuss. I recommend you to all my friend!”
Karen Green/Richard Kemp, Owners of a Beneteau Oceanis 393 Clipper.
“Excellent workmanship – the cover looks very impressive. No mess on the boat – very professional fitting and finish. Quick delivery lead time – was much quicker than expected. Value for money product – compared to your competitors you have a quality product at a seemingly reasonable price. Excellent customer service – my dealings with your Company have always been easy and trouble free”
Derek Barnard, Owner of a Moody 40 @ Lymington Yacht Haven.
"The Cockpit enclosure fitted to my Moody 36 is a great success. It effectively lengthens the boat providing a "room in the cockpit" The fixtures and fittings are robust and the precision fitting ensures we can sail the boat in all conditions with it folded in the cockpit as we have done for hundreds of hours. Most yachtsmen do not realise this and think fitting a cockpit enclosure means constant removal and reassembly. The design is so effective that I have never needed another pair of hands in order to fold and erect the cover! All our winches can be operated and our cockpit enclosure unobtrusively remains permanently in the cockpit greatly increasing our sailing pleasure"
Jim Flanagan "Xtraduty" Port Hamble.
“Doesn’t that look splendid! I know one thing – a strong west wind carrying rain will not stop us enjoying being on board anymore. Its like having another room on the yacht. The area within the cockpit enclosure is warm enough for the kids to sleep in”
Mr and Mrs Eveson, Owners of a Moody 36 who ordered a sprayhood and cockpit enclosure.
“I have to say that I am amazed you have completed the work so quickly.
”Owner of a Beneteau 411 for which Tecsew made a bimini and sprayhood.
“I was out on the boat with friends from Wednesday evening and was completely surprised that the bimini and cushions had been fitted. I’m very pleased with everything - thank you so much.”
Owner of a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49.
“The cushions have arrived today safely and are looking fantastic. Thanks very much for the prompt service.”
Richard Longdon owner of a Jeanneau 49DS 2006 new.
"We are delighted with the conversion. It gives us an easy deployed Bimini for use in hot weather and also for use while sailing in rain. When moored up, we are able to deploy the enclosure which turns the cockpit area into cosy living space in foul or colder weather. There is no awkward extra steel-work to find a home for when the cockpit tent is stowed so all we have to find a home for is a few pieces of canvas. Dismantling it is a doddle. Putting it up takes a couple of tries to figure out the best order to do things in - but then it becomes easy. It takes us about 5 minutes to erect. The Velcro assistance on the side-panels helps and the bungee attachments around the base of the tent are easily deployed and removed from inside the tent. When erected, the whole thing looks like a 'proper job' blending nicely with the original design. With the Bimini up it has always taken a bit of ducking and weaving to get between the cockpit and the side deck. This is inevitable given the geometry and is quite manageable. The entrances to the tent from the side decks inherits the same slight difficulty. We anticipate that stern-to-mooring in the Med will make this even less of a problem. With hidsight, I would pay more attention to the tapes which secure the side and particularly rear panels when rolled up. These are fiddly to do up and not very secure. I would recommend toggles and loops - preferably with some bungee involved - for any future attempts"
Mr and Mrs Kitson, Southerly 35RS, Bimini Conversion
"Just a short note of appreciation for the excellent making and fitting of extended Aft Canopy and Tonneau cover for my Princess 430. The quality of workmanship and materials exceeded my exceeded my expectations and I would have no hesitation in recommending your Company's services. Once again many thanks for a good job well done"
Tony Gilliam, Princess 430 "Krystal Lady"
